Binge eating can be a complex issue. There are usually many layers that pile-up to set someone up for continued bingeing.

In our Fit Woman For Life program, we are tackling binge eating on a case-by-case basis.
.
.

While the psychological factors that lend one to binge take longer to work on, changing a few key habits can often quickly minimize the intensity of the binges.
.
.

If you find yourself bingeing (particularly in the evening) try to improve upon these 3 habits:
.
.

1) Eating like a bird during the day - If you find that you binge a lot in the evening, there's a really good chance that you're not eating enough during the day. Try adding meals and snacks that are higher in lean protein such a chicken breast, other lean meats, eggs/egg whites, Greek yogurt, etc.
.
.

2) Night Owl Mode - Bingeing is usually something we tend to do alone, later in the evening. If you can spend some time pulling back your bed time, then you can start to turn back that Night Owl clock. Remember: You can't eat that late night bowl of ice cream if you are asleep. You can only dream about eating it...and we all know that dream ice cream is very low in calories ;)

3) NetFlix and Eat - You may find that if you take a bag of chips to the couch and start to veg out, you end up eating the whole bag in one sitting. Make a commitment to eat the food at the kitchen table; eat it slowly. You may just find that when you eat your food at the table, you eat much less than you normally would have eaten on the couch.

The physiological process is actually difficult to interpret but for majority of population the actual process to grow muscle is simple.

Train hard and harder over time and ensure enough tension occurs in training.

I like to have a glass of wine at 9 so I can't cut off calories at 8.⁣

Won't my metabolism slow down if I skip breakfast?!⁣

THE REALITY (for most people in the general population)⁣

You will likely feel a bit of hunger in the morning but you can curb it with water, black coffee, and other healthy zero cal beverages. It is very manageable.⁣

The eating window is flexible and doesn't HAVE to be exactly 8 hours long.⁣
⁣
It isn't radical. If anything, grazing on food for 16 hours of the day is more unnatural. Digestion and cellular repair can both improve when fasting.⁣
⁣
BREAKING NEWS: You can still have breakfast food for lunch or dinner (if you're anything like me then you staunchly believe breakfast food is the best).⁣
⁣
Your metabolism will be just fine. ⁣
⁣
The bottom line is that IF is a very effective energy management/weight loss/sculpting/toning strategy. It WORKS if done in the right way, but it still doesn't mean it is for everyone. If you try it and don't like it or don't feel great doing it, then it might not be for you. And that's ok. It is one of many methods that can be effective.⁣

Did you know that wild salmon are a deep reddish orange on the inside. 
They get their colour from what they eat which is krill and tiny little shrimp like crustaceans that contain carotenoids which are naturally occurring orange pigments.

Now here’s the difference, farm raised salmon eat feed that is made of poultry litter, hydrolysed chicken feathers, corn, soy and other fish. -
So the salmon eats this and becomes grey which is unappetising so then it’s coloured with chemicals called canthaxanthin and astaxanthin to dye their insides! -
The biggest manufacturer of this is Hoffman La Roche, the same crew that produces Valium and other nasties. -
Apparently you can pick your shade of orange too from a swatch called a Salmofan. -
I only eat Aoraki Salmon and Mt Cook Alpine king salmon which I buy from Huckleberry. -
