Consumption of any calorie source elevates insulin to a degree, but fibre and additional macronutrients in whole foods serves to slow down the digestion process. In turn, there is a less precedented insulin response and increased satiety.

If we apply this theory to the Coca-Cola, we can rationally establish that: 1. Consumption on any level has no nutritional advantages to your health. 2. Moderate consumption won’t be of any significant detriment to your health. 3. Excessive consumption over time could possibly contribute to elevated insulin response and a calorie surplus. -

For the innocent smoothie, it is very similar to the Coca-Cola. Whilst micronutrients support function, they do not have a direct relationship with insulin or energy balance. Lack of fibre and similar sugar/calorie value means insulin response will mirror that of the Coca-Cola. Though, in parallel isolation, given it has fewer calories, less fat will be gained by consuming the Coca-Cola. -

Over time, consuming excessive calories from foods bereft in fiber and balanced macronutrients may cause you to become overweight. This may be due to poor satiety, resulting in further calorie excess (subjectively contributing to type 2 diabetes). And/or you acquire a proportionally high amount of visceral fat in the abdominal cavity, reducing the functionality of some organs, including the liver and pancreas (objectively contributing to type 2 diabetes). Sugar does not directly cause type 2 diabetes - but being overweight does.

This morning I nearly quit. I got up and I have a really bad sinus infection and I'm in pain... I've been eating a lot of Tylenol. But I'm not letting that stop me. I sat down for a second and thought about whether or not I would hate myself if I decide to just not go. I knew the answer, so I put on my sneakers and did what I needed to do. GREEN TEA FOR FAT LOSS?

‍Before the  storm of angry green tea drinkers bludgeon their way into the comments section, I'll preface by saying green tea clearly has many health benefits. There's a metric crap ton of research on it & pretty much all of it supports it's use for overall health. Thus far it's shown to be cardioprotective, neuroprotective, liver protective, anti-carcinogenic, yada yada yada. BUT, remember, healthy does NOT mean it burns fat.

Truth is, while green tea appears to be a great drink for overall health and function and blah blah blah...when it comes to actually burning fat, it does NOT do anything special. Even with the possibility of it improving insulin sensitivity (which is no where near conclusive, by the way) it only appears to happen in unhealthy populations and in relatively insignificant amounts.

Many will be skeptical of this considering how many hundreds and thousands of articles say otherwise. And that's ok, you should be skeptical. And you should 100% not take my word at face value and please do your own research. That said, let me ask you this > how many people do you know who have lost a considerable amount of weight and give the credit to green tea?

Similarly, if you've ever used green tea as a fat burner (via pill or liquid), how much weight did you lose? And have you been able to keep it off since?

🦄My point is this >green tea is great. And if you want to drink it, please do. But do NOT let anyone fool you into thinking you need it for fat loss. Because, per usual, the most important component of fat loss is maintaining a calorie deficit. And as long as you do that over time, drinking green tea won't help you lose fat any faster.

Leg day again, second time this week.  Heavy back squats. This is 95 lb 2X 12 than did 115 lb 2X 10 and 135 lb 1X6, followed by ball hamstring curls 4X12 and step ups 3X12 40 lb and 1X10 50 lb. Tomorrow is Hungarian Fold Dance Party in the night, hope I will be able to dance . I took the picture on the right this morning. And I actually felt good about it. I feel good about myself! 
I have been doing so good on my workouts and eating healthy. I drink my shakeology every day and I workout to insanity every morning. I schedule a time and make sure I get these two things done every day. 
And A LOT A LOT A LOT of stuff has been going on (which I am so excited to share with you all soon) And guess what?! I haven't fallen off the bandwagon! I feel super proud of myself because of that. I believe in myself. I wake up every morning and I remind myself to believe in my own self! And I think that is what is so important.

You see, The picture on the left,  I didn't believe in myself at all. I wanted to believe in myself, I wanted to lose weight. But I couldn't. I didn't believe I could even make it through one workout. Yet alone one week without binging. I gave up on myself before I even tried!

Believing that you can do it. Believing that it is going to be hard, but you are not going to cave in; is the biggest gift that you can give yourself. The power in believing in yourself. I don't think I have shared the picture on the left before! The picture on the left was an hour before I packed up my final boxes and moved from Missouri to Utah in 2009. (I'm standing in the U-haul, if you can't tell) the picture on the right is from just recently in Missouri. I'm sharing this picture not for the 75lb transformation picture this time, but for a deeper transformation. A confidence transformation, you could say. At this time in my life I had hardly any self esteem or self confidence. (I feel like you can totally tell with the pic on the left-or maybe it's just me) I felt inhibited. I was scared. I didn't do things that I wanted to do, because I held my own self back. I walked around fearing what people thought of me. Being bullied at school, and hearing cruel words didn't help either. For me, loosing weight more or less broke open something deeper in my soul. Little by little I started believing in myself. I found something that I wanted (loosing weight) and became so proud of myself for following my dream.Therefor, my confidence and self-esteem grew. I'm writing this because I know so many people live there life in fear. Just like I did: Fear of being judged. Fear of wondering if you look good enough. Fear of being the big girl. Etc. Etc.I wish I could go around and let every single one of you know how beautiful you truly are, and how good enough you really are! I get messages all of the time from people saying I'm so fat, I hate myself or I can't love myself and it rips my heart to shreds. No one should hate themselves. Especially, because they don't like the way they look. I don't want people to think that they are worthless or no good because they are overweight. My whole message is to love yourself no matter your weight/height,etc. Do what makes you happy and do what makes you healthy. We are all so worthy of love. Especially loving ourselves. The greatest challenge in life is discovering who you are... The second greatest challenge is being happy with what you find
