What I eat in one day - Are you under the impression that I am starving myself? Trust me, I am not. Here's what I ate today, and I was super hungry all day, so I ate a lot... I had two snacks in the afternoon and one big snack tonight. Usually I eat way less than that and am perfectly fine.

- Second afternoon snack, roasted chickpeas
- Dinner: beef meatloaf, whole wheat couscous with sun dried tomatoes, Brussels sprouts and grape tomatoes
- Breakfast: Steel cut oats with mixed berries, cocoa, sliced almonds, almond extract and chia seeds

Right, from top to bottom:
- Lunch: one of the salads I prepared earlier this week, to which I added chicken.
- First afternoon snack, smoothie with protein powder
-  Evening snack: whole wheat English muffin, ham, egg and cheese

A little Tuesday motivation! Some of you may have picked up that training legs and glutes is my absolute fav thing to do, so here's today's quick lunch hour sesh:

️ Barbell back squat 6 × 6 at 135lbs
️ Sumo stance leg press 8 × 6 at 160lbs
️ Duck stance leg press 6 × 6 at 90lbs
️ Narrow stance high platform leg press 6 × 6 at 160lbs
️ Single leg press 4 × 6 (per leg) at 50lbs
️ Weighted hip thrusts 7×5 at 135lbs
️ Weighted lunges 4 × 6 (per leg) at 45lbs
------------------------------------------------------------------
If you generally stick with the standard leg press, seriously give these variations a try. I usually stack the most weight for standard and narrow stance, then ease off for the other variations (especially single leg). Change your mindset and you won't be under the impression that you are in diet mode and/or that you are missing out on something when it comes to food. Change the way you view food. Food should fuel your body, period. Learn to enjoy healthy food for what it is and its benefits. It's OK to eat crap once in a while, we all do. Don't worry if you do. But learn to embrace and love healthy food.

Don’t be too hard on yourself!! It’s something I’ve learned over the years.  I’m back into real life today I was going to hit the gym and do an epic workout and video it for you.  Honestly I’m beat, I was awake at 330am , my phone didn’t charge overnight (didn’t plug it in properly) so I went to the gym did a short fullbody workout just to get back into routine, but honestly I have an overwhelming list of work ( that’s piled up)  and home chores  to get done. ⁣
So here’s what I did if your short on time want to just get back into routine here’s a great workout routine. ⁣
3 rounds 8 reps lift heavy no rest⁣

 So I've been gone for a long time! Don't really have any excuses but just got complacent to not exercising. Getting on the scale is not fun....it really hasn't moved at all but I'm feeling really jiggly and guilty every time I go off track eating because there's nothing going on to help burn any of those extra calories. I decided to try something new today and see how I like it and even if I don't stick with this certain program every day, I have hundreds of workouts to choose from! Wish me luck because I could really use it! Going to weight myself and going to try to stay off the scale to see how I'm actually feeling. Hope everyone has a great day and any encouraging words from you are always helpful to keep me going! .

🤦‍️ A lot of women say to me they don’t want to lift weights for fear of getting big & bulky BUT ladies this won’t happen! I promise  your levels of testosterone are too low to build muscle (I won’t go too in-depth as to all the reasons but I promise you’re safe to lift heavy weights)

 And when trying to lose weight you get such a great calorie burn from lifting weights that it makes no sense to complete monotonous cardio sessions when you could be getting stronger

@1busybody @brookebgermaine Absolutely 😊 Sit on the edge of a bench and keeping back straight, hinge at waist to lower your chest down towards your knees. Pull your elbows back with arms bent at 90 and palms facing in. Straighten your elbows to extend arms straight back. Bend elbows back to 90 and abduct your elbows out slightly and extend arms back again. The angled kickback will have your arms forming a V. Hope that helps! 💜

There are many variables to this but to try and keep it simple remember a few facts - the key to a lean body is to keep your metabolism firing; you can achieve this by eating little and often. If your work, preparation and lifestyle allow you to eat 5-6 smaller meals a day then it's unlikely you will need to snack. If your lifestyle doesn't allow the flexibility to eat little and often it's important that you 'snack' to keep that all important metabolism firing.

Being hungry increases your chances of over eating when you do have a meal, being hungry increases your chances of opting for convenience over nutrition, being hungry slows your metabolism and is likely to have adverse effects.
.
Snacks should be small, whole/clean where possible, mainly protein based and always low in sugar. Avoid sweet fruits, cashews and almonds are perfect, high protein yoghurts are well balanced too.

Thankfully I was blessed with very responsive legs. Up until recently I did not train legs often, 30lbs ago that was acceptable... for the last few weeks I’ve been training legs four times a week, mon am, mon pm, Fri am and fri pm. Keeping moderate weight to focus on my hip movement and rotating targeted areas has allowed my lagging left leg to catch up a bit so far. I keep the weight on my toes in this lift to target the front of my quads, it will put moderate stress on the ankles if you go too heavy so be mindful of the weight. 135 warm up 185x15 235x10 to 275 4x4 w/pause. -

This quote really speaks to me. Being healthy and fit does not only depend on what you eat and the amount of training you do. Your physical health is important, but your mental health is equally important. It is essential to take care of both to be healthy. Being surrounded by difficult, negative and unhappy people and having to deal with them on a daily basis has a huge impact on your mental well-being. Saying yes when you want to say no and should do so and putting your wants and needs aside to constantly please others also takes its toll on your mental health. All of this leads to stress, negative thoughts, unhealthy habits and unhappiness. And when your mental health is not optimal, it is pretty tough to find the courage and energy to work on your physical health. I went through some tough times over the last two years; in hindsight, I know I was unhappy because I tolerated for too long too many things I shouldn't have tolerated. One day, I had to make choices and decisions to finally be well mentally and become healthy and fit as a whole.  When pulling down with the rope attachment try spreading the rope as you pull down. Keep a good posture by not rocking back and forth as much, a little rocking is okay  You want to focus on the contraction and by doing so keep your back straight and do not pull with your arms  Get a full stretch when letting up and then try to bring both ends of the rope right below your chest

I see this exercise done wrong the majority of time.  Remember we are challenging the muscle, not swinging the weight.

In the case of a DB row it is crucial to take the back through its full range of motion for this exercise.  Notice the full extension at the bottom.  I always start the movement by engaging the back first, then start the motion.  Remember to keep the torso stationary, pull up and back through the elbow. Doing kneeling instead of anchored down makes me focus that much more on controlled movements. If I do jerking aggressive swinging movements I will lift off the ground, messing up form and muscle fiber stimulation

This is me last Saturday on top of Mont Tremblant. I was supposed to go up by the shortest route, the Grand prix des couleurs, but at 10:30, it was already 30 degrees and there is absolutely no shade on that trail. With an elevation gain of 650 m for 2,7 km, it would have been dangerous with this heat. So I went down instead. It was tough because it was really steep and obviously I did not want to fall. My quads and glutes are still hurting two days later, which means it was a good exercise lol
